Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist I is responsible for obtaining diagnostic radiographic examinations at a technical level, requiring minimal supervision while performing essential job functions.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic radiographic examinations by positioning patients, selecting proper technical factors based on individual patient needs, and utilizing required equipment.
• Restricts radiation exposure to unaffected parts using collimating devices.
• Performs portable x-ray examinations in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Identifies and labels patient films correctly with necessary details.
• Develops exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.
• Completes patient requisitions accurately.
• Maintains an organized x-ray room as directed by department leadership.
• Prepares and assists in administering radiopaque contrast media to patients.
• Handles administrative duties related to scheduling appointments, patient instructions, and record maintenance as required.
• Provides assistance to patients with mobility needs depending on their abilities.
• Adheres to standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of orthopedic experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited school of Radiology Technology and clinical requirements.
• Must possess a New Jersey State License.
• Eligible to meet requirements for the National Registry and capable of passing the examination.
