Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, you will provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and their families. You will effectively communicate pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team, participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals, and ensure the implementation of those solutions.

Responsibilities

• Utilize clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• Post-Partum experience is required.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NRP is required.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
