Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, emphasizing safety and quality in all operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming individualized plans of care.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and communicate pertinent patient information.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective problem-solving and decision-making.
• Provide for personal and environmental safety and contribute to a positive unit environment.
• Identify professional growth opportunities through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for specific locations).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
