Day shift, 1x12.0, with every other weekend and the 4th of July required.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by administering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. The role requires evaluating patients to recommend treatment plans, explaining treatment purposes and procedures, and educating patients upon discharge. Responsibilities also include operating ventilatory equipment, administering medication, performing chest physiotherapy, suctioning, and conducting pulmonary function studies as per policy. The therapist is also responsible for monitoringsuch as oximetry and capnography, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and maintaining accurate documentation of treatments and responses on patient charts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
• Provide routine and emergent respiratory care operations using various equipment.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor responses to treatments.
• Educate patients and their families regarding respiratory therapy and care.
• Document treatment sessions and maintain accurate patient records.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status and therapy progress.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience with ventilatory equipment and related respiratory care is preferred.
