Operating Room Scrub Technician - Geneva, New York

4x9 hour days, call rotations and weekends as needed.

Job Description

The Scrub Technician participates as a team member in the planning and implementation of nursing care for each patient. The role involves collaboration with medical, nursing, and ancillary services to provide safe patient care. The Scrub Tech demonstrates professional and courteous conduct, handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterility of instruments and the surgical environment by following appropriate procedures.
• Prepare instrument sets based on surgical procedures and patient needs.
• Ensure and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Create and maintain a sterile field, adhering to AORN standards for aseptic technique.
• Conduct safety assessments of the surgical environment.
• Handle and operate sophisticated surgical equipment efficiently.
• Act as a preceptor and mentor to new employees.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification through AHA or RQI required.
• OR Tech certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
