Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs Radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician while adhering to department protocols and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for examination.
• Review clinical data and perform appropriate examinations.
• Prepare procedure rooms and replenish stock as necessary.
• Analyze anatomical structures and manually control equipment to obtain diagnostic information.
• Select and administer intravenous contrast media and monitor patients for reactions.
• Perform imaging procedures while demonstrating principles of radiation protection.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment and ensure adequate supplies are on hand.
• Document necessary work sheets, logs, and patient records.
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure quality image delivery into PACS.
• Complete study indexing in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Collaborate with the Radiologist on clinical protocols before performing studies.
• Focus on providing excellent customer service standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible.
• Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, with Level I or II Trauma experience in the OR.
