Travel Nurse - Emergency Department

Schedule

Variable 8 or 12-hour shifts, scheduled for a total of 80 hours in a 2-week period. Shifts will be determined by the manager upon arrival, with one on-call shift and at least one weekend off per roster.

Job Description

The role is for a travel nurse in the emergency department requiring multitasking abilities and proficiency in various clinical procedures. Candidates must effectively work independently and be familiar with emergency care practices and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Meditech EMR, Life pack Defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips Monitoring Systems, and Motorola Radio Systems.
• Participate in patient care initiatives, including Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma activations.
• Understand and implement core measures and National Patient Safety Goals.
• Employ AIDET principles and adhere to Press Ganey customer service standards.
• Float to other units/departments as required, based on clinical abilities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• More than 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency setting.
• Proficient IV skills and familiarity with emergency protocols.
• Active Hawaii license required before the start of the assignment.
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, BLS, NIHSS (Mandatory).
• NCI and Procedural Sedation certifications preferred but not mandatory.
