Night shift, 4x12 hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care for individuals with various diagnoses, including cardiac disease, stroke, infection, and pain management. Successful candidates should possess the skills necessary to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, utilize rapid response teams, and administer non-invasive airway management along with oxygen therapies. Experience with peripheral line care and managing isolation precautions is essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret patient telemetry data.
• Manage rapid response activation and interventions.
• Provide nursing care to a patient ratio of 6-7:1, adjusting based on unit staffing needs.
• Perform and document nursing tasks including IV management and patient education.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary support teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in a medical surgical/telemetry unit.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred.
• New York RN license required prior to submission.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system is preferred.
