Schedule

4 ten-hour shifts from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with every third weekend rotation and potential for on-call shifts during weekends and midnight.

Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures to evaluate pathological entities as ordered by a physician, while adhering to department protocols. This role involves utilizing independent judgment for appropriate radiographic techniques and ensuring patient safety practices are followed.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for exams.
• Review clinical data and obtain additional information about the patient's medical history as needed.
• Prepare the procedure room and replenish necessary supplies regularly.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up, and manually control radiologic equipment to obtain diagnostic information.
• Select and administer intravenous contrast media, monitoring patients for reactions.
• Demonstrate principles of radiation protection and ensure compliance with department standards.
• Complete documentation and indexing for radiology information systems.
• Assist in teaching and educating new hires and students as necessary.
• Ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS, resolving any image exceptions.
• Foster an environment of teamwork and uphold customer service standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Must be registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or registry eligible.
• Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS).
• Experience in a Level II Trauma hospital setting is essential.
