Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role requires a commitment to patient and employee safety and embraces the core values of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with hospital policies.
• Assume charge responsibilities as required and identify opportunities for professional growth.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (if applicable).
• Minimum of two years bedside clinical experience.
• PCU experience and charge nurse experience are required.
• Previous experience with Select Medical is highly desired.
