Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care during the antepartum, intrapatum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of Obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients. This position requires the utilization of the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in planning for safe delivery of care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring certifications are required.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery is preferred.
• Navy Scrubs required.
