Job Description

The competent Nurse practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This position involves providing routine and complex care, addressing both physical and psychological needs, and managing contingencies within a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact state licensure.
