Schedule

4x10 hour shifts, Days; weekends, holidays, on call/callback per unit needs. Call 1-2 times a week and 1-2 weekends of call per month.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for producing high-quality radiologic images while demonstrating competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning patients. The ideal candidate should have experience in interventional radiology, preferably in neurosurgery or neuroscience.

Responsibilities

• Administers oral contrast as needed per exam.
• Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
• Assists Radiologist during procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in operating all x-ray equipment, CR, and DR systems.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead.
• Completes all assigned procedures in a timely manner, utilizing downtime effectively.
• Maintains medication security to authorized personnel only.
• Provides healthcare services competently across all age groups.
• Displays professional interpersonal skills with patients and staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Minimum of two years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Licensure in the state of New York.
• Experience in Neurosurgery/Neuroscience is required.
• ARRT Certification is required; VIR certification is preferred.
