Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift 3x12

Night shift, 3x12 hours per week. Requires every 3rd weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and focus on patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning on admission and commence patient teaching early.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to team members.
• Supervise ancillary nursing personnel and provide training as needed.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and team dynamics.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and equipment.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation period.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (specific location only).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
