Job Description
Under the supervision of the Rehabilitation Services Director, the Staff Therapist is responsible for the administration of Physical Therapy to a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric, with the goal of improving functional abilities.
Responsibilities
- Assess and interpret evaluations and test results; develop treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
- Administer manual exercises and coach patients on physical activities, assisting with both nonmanual exercises and daily-living activities.
- Provide treatments such as massages, traction, and the application of various physical agents.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and modify prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary.
- Engage in discharge planning in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
- Design and instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs to ensure continuity of care post-discharge.
- Document patient care services accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with infection-control policies.
- Participate in professional development and provide training for physical therapy staff.
- Adhere to legal and professional standards, providing insights on legislative changes affecting the profession.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Possession of a Physical Therapy License issued by the State of Colorado.
- BLS certification required.
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, methods, and relevant psychological research methods.
- Ability to assess customer needs and provide high-quality personal services.
