Occupational Therapist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position in Rochelle Park, New Jersey.

Schedule

Day shift, Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. No weekends and only one holiday per year.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist will plan, organize, develop, administer, direct, and supervise Occupational Therapy treatment in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s level of functioning upon physician orders and implement appropriate treatment.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning for each patient.
• Complete necessary documentation according to department policy and procedures.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in their application of theory and techniques.
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Communicate with patients and family members effectively.
• Participate in quality improvement and maintain flexibility in scheduling.
• Conduct evaluations and create individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid, current state license.
• BLS certification is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapy experience is required.
• Previous acute care experience is preferred.
