Emergency Department Nurse (ED) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Emergency Department (ED) Nurse will be responsible for providing care to patients of all ages, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Nurses will encounter various common patient diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. The unit consists of 64 beds, including triage, acute care, super track, trauma, and psychiatric beds.

Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients in critical condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Utilize specialty equipment, including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
• Provide both high-level care and support to patients and their families.
• Float to other units as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Emergency Department (ED) with pediatric experience preferred.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications.
• Active New York RN license and NURSYS report for license verification.
• Drivers license with an address matching demographics.
• Familiarity with the EPIC EMR system is required.
