Schedule

This position requires 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Call duties are mandatory, with a minimum of one call per week during weekdays and one call every fifth weekend.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR) is responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process in a peri-operative environment. This role involves coordinating patient care with the surgical team and overseeing OR personnel while ensuring adherence to professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting.
• Coordinate care with surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• Guide OR Technicians and other staff while maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in hospital regulations, performance improvement activities, and ongoing education.
• Act as a resource for other medical personnel as appropriate.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (to be maintained current).
• Minimum of one year of previous perioperative experience or relevant training.
• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience in pre-operative and post-operative care preferred.
