Occupational Therapist - Day Shift - Akron, Ohio

Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.

Job Description

The Occupational Therapist plans, organizes, develops, administers, directs, and supervises OT treatment in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, as well as a commitment to quality care and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' levels of functioning and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes and discharge planning.
• Document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with department policies.
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and students in therapy practices.
• Promote continuous quality improvement and demonstrate effective patient communication.
• Conduct evaluations based on patient diagnosis and medical records.
• Maintain safety protocols in patient handling, equipment use, and environmental conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must hold a valid and current State license.
• BLS certification required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Occupational Therapy is required.
