Phlebotomy Technician

Job Description

The Phlebotomy Technician is primarily responsible for collecting specimens for laboratory testing in the inpatient setting. Patients may range from newborn through older adults. Team members are assigned to various inpatient units based on volume and are expected to provide timely and accurate service.

Schedule

This position operates on a schedule of 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM, with some evening shifts from 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM as needed. The role typically entails 16-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary methods for specimen collection.
• Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and coworkers to ensure a smooth process.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques is required.
• A minimum of one year of consecutive experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
