Operating Room RN First Assist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule / Shift

Day shifts are scheduled as 5x8 hours from 06:45 AM to 05:15 PM, including some weekday and weekend on-call duties.

Job Description

The Operating Room RN First Assist is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients in the operating room setting. The role involves circulating and scrubbing in surgical procedures, with a focus on pediatric general and women’s specialty surgeries. Candidates with robotic surgery experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures by performing tasks such as suturing, clamping, and managing instruments.
• Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to safety protocols within the operating room.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient patient care and optimal surgical outcomes.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to adult patients.
• Handle on-call duties as scheduled, covering both weeknights and weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, specifically in an operating room setting.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Experience working in a pediatric setting and with robotic surgery is preferred.
• WV or Compact RN License is required; pending licenses are considered.
