Step Down RN - 3x12 Nights

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), typically with a 1:4 patient ratio and a 1:5 ratio during emergencies.

Job Description

The Step Down RN will be responsible for providing care in a lower acuity step down unit, where no drips are required. The ideal candidate should be able to read telemetry strips and demonstrate competency in starting IVs. The RN will work in a collaborative environment, focusing primarily on cardiac patients and others who require medical/surgical care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patients in a step down unit
• Manage patient care with the assigned nurse-to-patient ratio
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding care plans

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry and 2 years in Stepdown
• Current RN license (WV or Compact License - pending license acceptable)
• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS (must be from the American Heart Association)
• Experience with telemetry and IV start
