Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), including weekdays and weekends. The patient ratio is 1:2, subject to unit acuity levels.

Job Description

The CVIUC RN is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in a cardiac intensive care unit. Candidates must have experience in managing direct fresh open-heart admissions from the operating room, as well as proficiency in pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT).

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients recovering from cardiac surgeries including CABGs and valve replacements.
• Manage patient health through monitoring vital signs and administering medications as prescribed.
• Utilize advanced equipment relevant to cardiac care, including CRRT and Swan-Ganz catheters.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a relevant specialty.
• Active RN license in West Virginia or compact state.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required.
• Experience with Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Impella, and direct open-heart admissions is essential.
