Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist is a key member of the allied healthcare team who works under the supervision of the Respiratory Medical Director and Department Manager. The role involves the treatment, management, control, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for triaging patients safely and rapidly, determining priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, and communicating effectively with Emergency Department physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic study results.

Responsibilities

• Provide Respiratory Care services as per physician orders, departments policies, and established procedures.
• Conduct patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
• Administer therapeutic interventions and educate patients, caregivers, and the community.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Utah State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• BCLS and ACLS certification.
• Valid (active) NBRC Credential in good standing.
• AARC/USRC Membership preferred.
