Schedule

Shift hours vary between 8, 10, and 12 hours, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends/holidays. On-call shifts may be required 0-3 times per month.

Job Description

The PACU Nurse is responsible for caring for patients post-surgery, ensuring their stability and comfort in Phase I and Phase II recovery. Ideal candidates will have a critical skill set to assess incision sites, monitor vital signs, and spot any complications that arise.

Responsibilities

• Caring for patients in the post-anesthesia care unit.
• Monitoring vital signs and assessing patient recovery progress.
• Providing pre-operative and post-operative patient education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience as a critical care RN (e.g., ER & ICU) in a hospital setting may substitute for PACU experience.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• A valid professional license within the state of practice is required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) credential is recommended.
• Other specialty-related certifications are a plus.
