Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while delivering superior quality in patient care and support.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming a basis for an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information for team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs while ensuring quality outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and conduct patient teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Promote personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
• Facilitate a positive work environment through team building and effective communication.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and actively pursue professional development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
