Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 15-bed unit providing step-down ICU and telemetry services. As a nurse in this unit, you will deliver primary nursing care and telemetry monitoring, while ensuring comprehensive patient assessments and care plans are executed effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care to patients in a progressive care and telemetry setting.
• Monitor telemetry and read telemetry strips accurately.
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar checks for patients as needed.
• Utilize Meditech charting and Pyxis for medication administration.
• Maintain continuous cardiac monitoring and operate BIPAP equipment as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred.
• Active Hawaii nursing license required by the start of assignment.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Current PALS certification preferred.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
