Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN)

Job Description

The Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (EP RN) plays a crucial role in performing diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions in a clinical setting. Key responsibilities include preparing patients for procedures, ensuring all equipment is operational, monitoring recordings, and assisting with lab analysis and data interpretation. The EP RN will also support physicians with pacing implementation and the installation of cardiac devices, while maintaining a patient-focused approach throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for electrophysiology procedures and ensure equipment readiness.
• Monitor read-outs during procedures and facilitate communication with in-room staff and physicians.
• Assist in the sterile field, particularly during studies and ablations.
• Document procedures using the Epic system.
• Maintain fluids for ablation catheters and assist with ablator operations.
• Provide backup pacing during device implants and remain highly focused on patient care.

Schedule

This position requires 3 x 12-hour shifts primarily during the day with some late night and holiday coverage, as well as on-call duties as needed. Importantly, there are currently no weekend shifts required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• New York State RN License (required)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in electrophysiology or related areas
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required)
• Proficiency in moderate sedation is required
