10-hour day shifts from 0700 to 1930, with call duties once every 3rd to 4th weekend.

Job Description

The Surgical Services OR Nurse will be an integral part of the surgical team, providing care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures. The nurse will primarily be responsible for circulating in the operating room and must have experience in a range of surgical specialties, including orthopedic, robotic, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro.

Responsibilities

• Function as the circulating nurse in the operating room.
• Assist with surgical procedures as needed, including scrub duties.
• Monitor patient vital signs and manage post-operative care.
• Adhere to operating room protocols and maintain a sterile environment.
• Coordinate with surgical team members and support staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with 2 years in surgical services.
• Current New York State nursing license is required.
• BLS certification is required; CNOR preferred.
• Experience in trauma II or higher facilities is strongly preferred.
• Experience in vascular surgery is a must.
