Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises LPNs, CNAs, and orientees while promoting patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform a nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration.
• Provide accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of all assessments and interventions.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure quality outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate any changes in patient status to appropriate care providers.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit through team building and calm direction.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs, supplies, and training.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following the orientation period.
• Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience.
