Job Description

The RN Operating Room will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care during surgical procedures, with a focus on liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant cases. The nurse will be expected to assist in putting organs back into new patients, rather than just harvesting.

Responsibilities

• Support liver and transplant surgeries with proficiency in Misonix/CUSA.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
• Participate in and facilitate training and education for students and new staff as this is a teaching facility.
• Manage on-call duties as required, consisting of one shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of direct experience in liver/transplant operating room nursing.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS (must be provided at time of submittal), and NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start).
• All travelers must be nicotine-free.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen including nicotine required.
