Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN is responsible for supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while ensuring patient safety and care quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation of tasks.
• Safeguard personal and environmental safety according to nursing policies.
• Contribute positively to team functioning and create an efficient work environment.
• Manage service needs regarding supplies and equipment while providing cost-effective care.
• Demonstrate ownership of professional growth through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
