Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, while embracing the principles of patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs for patients and their families, collaborating with the Interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in a timely manner.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on education based on health care needs.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education at the time of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain a safe and supportive work environment for staff, patients, and families.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (specific to certain positions).
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is required.
• PCU/Critical Care experience is highly desired.
