Job Description

The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse will provide care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients in a cardiac medical surgical unit. Responsibilities include offering physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients, particularly those in recent post-operative settings such as pre and post PCI care, pacemaker placements, revascularization, and other cardiac surgeries.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care from admission to discharge, including discharge planning.
• Operate advanced medical equipment, including central lines, A-lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support.
• Conduct assessments and recognize deteriorating conditions, while implementing established policies and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Act as a clinical leader and assist in precepting nursing staff.
• Support a broad range of medical and surgical patient populations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current State of Montana RN Licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required.
• Experience in Critical Care, CVICU, and open heart nursing preferred.
• Proficient in EKG interpretation and basic cardiac telemetry.
