Job Description

Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gases therapy to patients. This role includes performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care and General Practice Units, maintaining clinical expertise across various business units as assigned, and effectively communicating with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees regarding patient care needs. Documentation of all aspects of patient care is also required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver life-support and resuscitation therapies to patients.
• Perform diagnostic procedures and treatments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient care.
• Supervise and direct Respiratory Therapists, externs, and students as assigned.
• Maintain accurate documentation and billing information for patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience, including NICU.
• Current License - Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• BLS certification.
