Respiratory Therapist - 48 Hour Assignment

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed. This position involves evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining the purpose and procedure of treatments, and providing necessary education upon discharge. The therapist operates various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation to patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments and operate ventilatory and nebulizer equipment.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning of patients using various methods.
• Monitor patient oxygenation and ventilation using oximetry and capnography.
• Perform pulmonary function studies and assist with procedures at the physician's discretion.
• Document relevant patient information and treatment responses thoroughly.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding treatment efficiency and patient progress.
• Contribute to patient care during emergencies by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Respiratory Therapy license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Experience with ventilator management and diagnostic modalities.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift consisting of 4x12.0 hours.
