Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the telemetry unit provides comprehensive nursing services to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. This role emphasizes individualized patient outcomes through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The candidate must demonstrate a scientific knowledge base while recognizing the cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the patient population served.

Responsibilities

• Deliver optimal patient care using nursing knowledge and skills.
• Perform assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of health problems.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Participate in patient educational efforts and family support.
• May float to intensive care units or other departments as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry experience required.
• Current NV RN license required prior to start.
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam, including rhythm strip identification.
