Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and those ordered by physicians to improve the cardiopulmonary conditions of patients from newborn to geriatric ages. This position primarily works with patients in critical care units, adult and pediatric general care, and may provide care at secondary sites consistent with facility obligations.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to effectively implement care protocols.
• Initiate or modify a patient's plan of care following predetermined orders under established protocols.
• Ensure proper documentation of all patient records and department logs.
• Provide optimal safe patient care through effective communication and engagement with patients.
• Participate in continuous education to stay updated with technological advances in respiratory care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have 2+ years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required.
• Current Nevada State License must be in hand prior to submission.
• Must apply for State of Nevada Point of Care Analyst license, Director of Point of Care, or General Supervisor of Point of Care prior to start.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
