12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled. Required to work 4 weekend night shifts within a 4-week schedule.

Job Description

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) is a 30-bed unit dedicated to providing high-quality care to patients with intermediate acuity. The goal is to maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, although it is typically 1:5, and occasionally may reach 1:6. Registered Nurses (RNs) are expected to manage a full patient assignment while working collaboratively with a clinical assistant and certified nursing assistants (CNAs).

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-procedure care.
• Read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips, with the support of tele techs.
• Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and others as required.
• Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists, who are in-house 24/7.
• Participate in floating to tele or med-surg as needed, ensuring flexibility in patient care delivery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification preferred.
• Active nursing license without any licensing hits.
