8-hour shifts, 2 PM - 10:30 PM, every 3rd weekend rotation.

Job Description

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs Radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological entities as ordered by a physician. The technologist also performs related functions according to department protocols, utilizing independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Explain examination procedures to patients and prepare them for the examination.
• Review clinical data on requisitions and perform appropriate examinations, obtaining additional medical history as necessary.
• Prepare and maintain procedure rooms, regularly replenishing supplies.
• Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform Radiologic procedures.
• Select and administer intravenous contrast media when required, monitoring patients for reactions.
• Demonstrate principles of radiation protection during imaging procedures.
• Prepare and set up sterile equipment and supplies, following infection control practices.
• Complete necessary work sheets, logs, and patient records.
• Resolve image exceptions and ensure high-quality image delivery into PACS.
• Index studies in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Review clinical protocols with the Radiologist as necessary prior to performing studies.
• Teach and educate new hires and students as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2-3 years of experience as a Radiographer.
• Prior experience in a Trauma Level 1 facility is required.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Current ARRT registration is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• Candidates with Epic Radiant charting experience are preferred.
