Job Description

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the care of patients in the operating room. As a member of the surgical team, the RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other personnel to provide exceptional patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the availability of supplies and equipment for surgical procedures
• Maintain timely and efficient case management
• Communicate effectively with patients' families
• Update physician preference cards as needed
• Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases
• Supervise personnel delivering patient care

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ACLS and BLS certified
• Available for on-call duties, 8 days per month
• Must wear Navy scrubs
