Job Description

Join a dedicated nursing team in a progressive care unit with a strong focus on providing high-quality patient care. The position involves monitoring and managing patients with a variety of cardiac conditions, while utilizing advanced medical equipment and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hourly rounding on days and every two-hour rounding on nights.
• Utilize AIDET principles for effective communication with patients and families.
• Maintain and update communication boards for patient information and team discussions.
• Perform advanced nursing procedures, including peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertions.
• Administer medications and manage IV drips, including cardiac and insulin protocols.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Critical thinking skills and ability to interpret EKG rhythms.
• Experience with cardiac drips, heparin drips, and insulin drips.
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of bipaps, high flow oxygen, and various oxygen delivery systems.
• Knowledge in tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube insertions.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS.
