Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with every other weekend commitment required.

Job Description

Looking for a dedicated Critical Care Nurse to join our PCU unit. The unit has 34 beds in 630 and 25 beds in 633, with patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on days and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights. Nurses will provide essential care for diverse medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights.
• Utilize AIDET principles and maintain communication boards.
• Administer medications and manage patient care equipment effectively.
• Participate in procedures such as peritoneal dialysis and chest tube insertions.
• Collaborate with a healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have critical thinking skills and experience with cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip.
• Preferred experience with peritoneal dialysis, tube feedings, and NG/dobhoff tubes.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
• Strong skills in EKG rhythm interpretation.
• Experience with bipaps, high flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems.
• Experience with stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care.
