Travel RN - Labor and Delivery

Schedule

Nights (7p-7a), every other weekend required. Call shifts 2x/scheduled period.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will hold shift accountability for providing care during the antepartum, intrapatum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phase of obstetrical care to Labor and Delivery patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for labor and delivery patients.
• Utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment in care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care priorities appropriately.
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience.
• Active AR or multistate nursing license.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
• Postpartum experience preferred.
