Medical-Surgical Float Pool Nurse

Job Description

The Med Surg Float Pool nurse provides comprehensive patient care across multiple medical-surgical units, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows. Nurses are expected to function independently, demonstrate strong clinical judgment, and uphold all hospital policies and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care across all inpatient Medical-Surgical units, step down, and ED for med surg holds.
• Adapt to varying patient populations and unit workflows quickly and efficiently.
• Function independently while demonstrating strong clinical judgment.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, attendance, documentation standards, and medication safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Med Surg experience required.
• Must possess BLS, ACLS, and NIHHS certifications.
• Strong proficiency in EPIC is required.

Schedule

This position requires every other weekend commitment. Agency staff are not scheduled on holidays.
