Progressive Care Nurse - 13-Week Contract

Job Description

The Progressive Care Unit is seeking a dedicated and organized nurse to join our team. The unit consists of 10 beds primarily serving Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular surgical patients, along with occasional medical progressive care patients. The ideal candidate will be adaptable and skilled in telemetry and chest tube management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients' telemetry and cardiovascular needs.
• Perform procedures such as pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tube insertion.
• Utilize advanced equipment including IV pumps, telemetry monitors, and BiPAP/CPAP.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ACLS and BLS certified.
• Experience in telemetry and comfort with chest tubes is required.
• Preferred experience with cardiac drips including dobutamine, dopamine, and Levo.
• External pacemaker experience is a plus.
