Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to the diagnosis of each patient.
• Provide timely patient information and status for team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and prioritize patient education.
• Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to support continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with policies.
• Contribute positively to the unit’s functioning and team building activities.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for professional development.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after orientation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
