Stepdown/MedSurg Nurse - 12-Hour Dayshift - Weekend Availability Required

Schedule

Dayshift, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with requirements for weekends either on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.

Job Description

Join our team in a 29-bed Stepdown/MedSurg unit that is currently under construction, set to open in the first quarter of 2026. This flexible unit will serve both step-down and floor patients, accommodating diverse medical diagnoses based on patient and hospital needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care for a diverse patient population.
• Manage patient assignments, handling a ratio of 6:1 for MedSurg and 3:1 for step-down patients.
• Titrate drips according to established protocols with orders written for various medications.
• Work collaboratively with charge nurses and house supervisors, with a goal of having a free charge RN once the unit opens.
• Assist with monitoring and managing patients on CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and ventilators as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• ACLS (AHA) Certification
• BLS (AHA) Certification
• Nurse license in good standing
• Experience in stepdown or med-surg nursing preferred but open to new nurses who can manage the required patient loads effectively.
