Registered Nurse - Neuro and Trauma Surgery

Schedule

This position offers a night shift from 19:00 to 07:30, working 3x12-hour shifts.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will provide nursing care to an adult patient population, including those undergoing total knee and hip replacements, neuro spine surgeries, urology procedures, and overflow trauma. The nurse will be required to float between units and must be NIHSS certified to care for patients with various neuro conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with total knee, total hip, neuro spine surgeries, and urology needs.
• Assist in the management of neuro patients including those with stroke, seizure, dementia, and traumatic brain injuries.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and maintain comprehensive patient records using the EPIC charting system.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate effectively with therapy services and social workers.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring a high standard of patient care.
• Manage patient ratios efficiently, particularly during peak hours.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant specialty.
• Current RN license in Pennsylvania or compact license.
• Approved certifications including BLS and NIHSS.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.
