Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role requires directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The nurse serves as a resource person when necessary and supports the mission of the healthcare organization by applying age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in care. The nurse is responsible for the care of all patients from birth to elderly, including post-surgical and behavioral health patients, and must conduct initial assessments and re-assessments every 24 hours.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the nursing process.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and nursing diagnoses.
• Coordinate nursing care based on best practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure quality care.
• Provide support and serve as a resource to patients and families.
• Address the needs of patients across all age groups.
• Complete reassessments every 24 hours.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of a nursing program from an NLN approved institution.
• Minimum of two years of Med/Surg experience preferred.
• Current Registered Professional Nurse license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• International nurses must have completed the NCLEX, TOEFL, and Visa Screen.
